Welcome and feel free to look around and enjoy my student's beautiful artwork and some of my artwork that was produced to demonstrate various techniques of art.

I have been teaching art for the last 15 years. In my teaching I tend to use the natural world for images while introducing artists throughout history. My goal is for all my students to succeed in acquiring skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculptures.

Student Work

Grades k-8

The majority of this artwork was created by Plantation Key School artists K-8 in the Florida Keys. The Florida Keys is a very special place and my theory why all this artwork turned out so great was because the students were immersed in the natural beauty. Kids from a very young age are exposed to beauty and colors of nature that they can easily communicate beauty in the art room.

Murals

Grades 6-8

Murals are a collaborative affair with middle school students. Throughout creating one ideas and images are studied and practiced so they not only learn how to draw something, but they gain confidence doing so. Murals are great for students to work on because not only are they learning how to draw and have fun, but they are also learning to work together, and respect other's views and efforts.

My Artwork

The majority of the artworks shown are pieces that were "demos" for teaching particular techniques of art. I like to participate in the same artistic process that the students do to better anticipate particular problems and challenges within the lesson. Sometimes I come up with beneficial tips and tricks. Every artwork creates its own problems and solutions to be discovered. It is always an adventure!
